After graduating I travelled to South East Asia and New Zealand for four months to experience the world you learn so much about during this degree course. Since then I have begun my career working for a multi-disciplinary consultancy, working directly with multi-national companies to deal with environmental issues such as contaminated land, engineering geology, geophysical abnormalities, ecology etc.
CCCU's Geography BSc was fantastic at providing a solid foundation for any route into the environmental sectors. Learning about the world and hazards in the built and natural environments underpinned the direction I wanted to pursue into the industry. Lecturing at the university was great all the way through, with prompt and timely feedback on assignments. The Geography programme has an ‘open door’ policy and you are encouraged to drop if you need a hand with anything. The staff are friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about their subjects and to summarise, I would highly recommend this course to anyone who asked me. CCCU’s Geography department provided me with the support, knowledge and ability to succeed in my career.
