Dr Daniel Donoghue
Dan is a Principal Lecturer in Geography and is also Director of the Faculty MSc by Research Programme. He is currently Vice Chairperson of the International Geographical Union (IGU) Urban Commission and his research is focused on the economy and development of cities and regions.

Dr Alexander Kent
Alex is Reader in Cartography and Geographic Information Science and the Director of GeoAcademy. He teaches all aspects of geographic information science, including cartography, GIS and remote sensing, as well as European and political geography. Well known in the international cartographic community, his research focuses on the relationship between maps, landscape, and society. Alex is the current President of the British Cartographic Society, Chair of the ICA Commission on Topographic Mapping and Editor of The Cartographic Journal.

Dr Rebecca Kent
Rebecca's interests lie in the area of human-environment interactions. She teaches in the areas of environmental management and development geography. Her current research explores the ways in which carbon is explained and understood in carbon credit projects and the impact of environmental change on wellbeing.

Dr Naomi Rintoul
Naomi’s research focusses on soil science, ecology and land management. She is currently working on a number of research projects investigating soil contamination in India and the UK, the use of mycorrhizal fungi for restoration of eroded sand dunes in Australia, the benefits of mycorrhizal fungi in agricultural fields in Tanzania, and the effects of sustainable rice cultivation on soil quality in Bali. She mainly teaches on Discovering Geography and Biogeography and Landscape Ecology within the Geography programme and on Soil Science and Land Management in Life Sciences.

Professor Peter Vujakovic
Peter is Emeritus Professor of Geography. His research interests span human and environmental geography, with current focus on 'sense of place' and landscape. He has also researched and written extensively on cartography. He is also interested in graphic representations of life and landscape in 'deep time'. He is an expert contributor to The Times Comprehensive Atlas of the World, is an Associate Editor (and former Editor) of The Cartographic Journal (British Cartographic Society) and co-editor of the Routledge Handbook of Mapping and Cartography.

Dr Katie Wooldridge
Katie teaches across a number of modules, with a focus on GIS, remote sensing, rural planning and contemporary issues in South-East England. Her research is also varied, building upon her PhD in glaciology and climate change and also investigating contemporary planning issues.

John Hills
John is a Research Fellow and Technician who manages the Geography Resources Room. He provides support for the teaching of GIS and has also produced maps for a range of publications. John’s current research focuses on the Geography of Anti-Social behaviour.

Stephen, first as a member of staff, and now as Visiting Reader, has had a leading role in pioneering sustainability perspectives in academic courses.
