Choosing to study Geography at CCCU was an easy decision to make. I had always been interested in the subject and knew I wanted to work in development. Whilst I didn’t know exactly which direction I wanted to take after University (career-wise), Geography seemed like a good, well-rounded subject which presented some promising prospects.

Alongside my studies I also worked in corporate hospitality. During the summer of 2012, straight after an event in Mallorca, I was lucky enough to get a job working for Panasonic in their Sponsor House at the Olympic Park. It was an exciting three months, which ultimately changed the direction of my dissertation and steered me into applying for a master’s degree in International Marketing at the University of Sussex.

As Brand Manager within the Wiley Education Services Division of John Wiley and Sons Inc., I am responsible for managing the international marketing approach for Wiley’s oldest and most established UK partner. Alongside this, I also support the marketing launches for our newest partnerships too. Studying Geography at Canterbury Christ Church University allowed me to develop a global - yet strategic – mind-set. In a role like this, being able to identify key markets, competition and target audiences has allowed me to generate measurable success - and accelerate the earlier stages of my career quickly.
