Collaborate Sharing Content and Interactive Tools

This section contains:

Chat Panel

The Chat Panel allows you to instant message everyone in the session or privately with specific moderators. Find out more using the link above.

Polling

Moderators can use polls to engage attendees and keep them interested. Attendees can respond to polls by selecting one of up to five responses. Find out more using the link above.

Breakout Groups

Moderators can create breakout groups for attendees to facilitate small group collaboration which are separate from the main room. Each breakout group can then share their own content and use a private chat space. Find out more using the link above.

Presenting and Sharing Content in Collaborate

Moderators can make attendees 'presenters'. This means that they can then upload, share, edit, and stop sharing content, and can also see 'hand raise' notifications. This support page shows attendees what new tools they will be given access to if moved into the 'present' role.

Sharing Content

The downloadable guide covers how to share content in a Collaborate environment, including sharing your application/screen and most importantly how to share audio and video streams with sound! The guide also covers which sharing feature you should select for PowerPoint depending if the slides have animations. This support page features information and guidance about the suite of content sharing tools available in Collaborate, including:

  • application sharing (e.g. share your screen/desktop)
  • file sharing*
  • whiteboard sharing
  • sharing PowerPoint slides*
  • content editing
