Learning Platform Suite

The Learning Platform Suite (LPS) is the collection of technology services that are focused on enhancing and supporting learning, teaching and assessment.

Put another way, it is the Suite of digital Platforms to support Learning. At the core of the LPS lies the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), the platform through which most digital learning and teaching takes place. The LPS is developed and maintained by LTE's Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Team.

Ally

Blackboard Ally (or simply just 'Ally') is a tool which allows you to download alternative formats for common documents to make your learning resources more accessible.

Blackboard Ultra

The main learning platform for all students. Provides core learning information module, and access to tools designed to enhance the student's learning experience.

BoB (Box of Broadcasts)

BoB (Box of Broadcasts) is an innovative shared online off-air TV and radio recording service for UK higher and further education institutions.

Collaborate

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra (or simply 'Collaborate') is the University's virtual classroom/web-conferencing tool.

Mentimeter

Mentimeter is a web-based classroom response system (CRS).

Padlet

Padlet is used for creating on-line boards, documents and webpages that are easy to read and contribute to.

PebblePad

PebblePad is a personal learning space that can be used to create e-portfolios and provides a space where learners can collect evidence of and reflection on their learning.

ReCap

ReCap is a Digital Learning Capture service which enables learning and teaching content to be recorded.

Turnitin

Turnitin is text similarity checking software used by universities worldwide to educate students about using sources with integrity and to deter plagiarism.
