Canterbury Christ Church University is a friendly, diverse, and welcoming community. From small beginnings as a teacher training college in 1962, we now offer a rich and varied programme of academic and professional courses attracting students from around the world.

Our network of campuses and centres stretches across Kent and Medway. They are a vital part of the local communities and we are proud that our Canterbury Campus is located in a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We are strongly committed to our mission of pursuing excellence in higher education: transforming individuals, creating knowledge, enriching communities, and building sustainable futures.

When you start your career with us, you will enjoy a competitive salary, excellent development opportunities, and a great working environment with a wide range of benefits, ranging from fantastic defined benefit pension schemes to the use of the University’s facilities, including the library and fitness centre. We offer generous holiday entitlements and additional days off over the Christmas period.

We currently offer hybrid working in some departments, enabling our colleagues to better balance their work and life priorities. We also provide great opportunities for career and personal development through a wide range of training.

Building a diverse workforce is fundamental to achieving a truly inclusive work and learning environment, and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.

If you have caring responsibilities, we offer a package of supportive policies including flexible working, parental and adoption leave, as well as leave for family emergencies.

We are a member of the Athena Swan Charter with a number of our Schools proud to demonstrate their commitment to gender equality through their awards.

The wellbeing of our staff community is important to us and we were one of the first universities to sign up to the University Mental Health Charter. We provide a range of support services including an Occupational Health Service and an Employee Assistance Helpline to support the physical and mental wellbeing of all of our colleagues.

We also recognise the importance of physical activity to support wellbeing, so Christ Church Sport and Active Health offers a range of sports facilities and clubs for our staff community to enjoy.
