About us

The Energy and Governance Group was established in Spring 2014, to explore the development, and consequences of energy security and energy governance within British and European terrains.

Drawing together the research interests of cognate academics from across and beyond Canterbury Christ Church University, the Energy and Governance Group is research-led, policy-impact driven, consultancy-oriented, and committed to promoting its research in key teaching outputs.

Our aims

“Congratulations to the Energy & Governance Group at CCCU on this most interesting and timely initiative”

Nicolò Sartori Senior Research Fellow, Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI)

The Energy and Governance Group was launched in Trinity Term 2014 with a one-day European Energy Governance Workshop, which produced a series of small podcasts, and accompanying briefing notes. Termly workshops will bring together cognate academics from across and beyond Canterbury Christ Church University working in range of areas of British and European energy security and governance. Workshop outputs will generate further briefing notes and more extensive research papers, in association with the Group’s partner, the Brussels-based Global Governance Institute. The critical mass of research, debate and output will in the medium-term serve as a repository for cutting-edge thinking on energy security and governance here at CCCU, and enable the group to deepen in its intended research-led, policy-driven, consultancy-oriented profile.
