Profile summary
Chris has been a full time PhD student here at Christ Church University since Oct 2013 and is exploring management practices in UK police forces from a relational sociological position. He is a mature student, coming to academia late in life by completing a part time masters by research here at the business school in 2012.
His interest in the management of police forces comes from his 30 year career with Kent Police having retired from them in May 2013. He covered many roles whilst serving in the police and ended his time as a crime manager where he was responsible for applying the Home Office counting rules to incidents reported to the police. This included a responsibility for teaching and training junior officers across East Kent in criminal law and crime recording.
As part of his PhD programme Chris is a member of the teaching team on the second year Management and Leadership module, which he enjoys very much.
