Partners in Learning Conference 2019

Success at University and Beyond - 24th January 2019

This year's Partners in Learning Conference theme was "Success at University and Beyond".  The event was opened by the Vice-Chancellor and Senior Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education, Enhancement and Student Experience).

We were very pleased to welcome Dr Tom Chatfield as our keynote speaker, his presentation "Critical Thinking in the 21st Century" was very well received with delegates stating that he was "a very engaging speaker" and "got us thinking".

The Keynote was followed by a number of breakout sessions which covered a variety of collaborative working and examples of how partnership in learning is helping to build a vibrant learning community at CCCU.  Below is a sample of some of the workshop presentations.

Collaborative working and learning through student Peer Assisted Learning

CLIER Reflections: thoughts on a student-staff doctoral group as a learning partnership

Below are some illustrations of what delegates took away from the day.

To slow down, to give placements to students so they can develop wider skills and also very good ways at embedding the graduate attributes.

Infuse project management and Gantt charts in research and project-based activities.

The idea of working in collaboration and getting students involved in their own learning

Collaborative working practices with and among students.

The Learning and Teaching conference planning team would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for making the conference such a success.
