Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful and restful Christmas break and are geared up for an exciting year ahead. With opportunities to build and develop your skills and a range of fun events and activities that bring our community together, there is lots to look forward to in 2025!

Your academic success

Good luck to those that have exams and assessments this month. We want you to do your best and reach your full academic potential. So, here are our top tips to help you succeed:

  • Re-check your exam timetable to make sure you know when and where to go – there may have been updates since you last checked.
  • Understand the dos and don’ts for the day of your exam. Remember to bring your Student ID.

And if you need a quiet spot to focus on preparing for your assessments, Augustine House will remain open 24/7 until 17 January and Drill Hall Library will return to term time hours from 2 January.

Your wellbeing check-in

Those post-festive blues are real, and you are not alone. Whether you’re connecting with others at the regular wellbeing events or chatting to our friendly Student Wellbeing Team at one of their daily drop-ins – there are plenty of ways to talk through those winter blues.

And remember, you can access 24/7 in the moment emotional support via Spectrum.Life, either online, by text or telephone, whenever or wherever you need support.

Take time to reflect

With semester two just around the corner, it is a good time to reflect on your university journey so far. With our 10-minute Check-In Tool, you'll receive instant feedback and personalised tips to enhance your wellbeing and success.

StressLess

You are also invited to join us for mindful and meditative activities on 21 January from 1 – 5pm at our StressLess event in Augustine House. Get creative with designing your own journal so you can start storing your thoughts and ideas.

And you can join the Medway Campus Chaplin for Chill n’ Chat on 10 and 21 January, 10am – 2pm for a relaxing, safe and welcoming space to hangout and meet new people.

Personal Development

Plus, don’t forget that most students will have a Personal Development Week at some point in their academic year and for many it will be from 19-25 January. Take this opportunity to think about your academic successes so far, try something new, set future goals, and get involved in your student life at CCCU.
