Unit 1: Foundations of Assistive Technology
This free online training Unit is an introduction to Assistive Technology (AT) for healthcare professionals and students.
The unit contains the following sections:
- What is AT?
- AT devices
- Who may benefit from AT
- The AT continuum
- AT for different purposes
- How is AT regulated?
The content is accessible via an online platform called Moodle. It should take no more than one hour to complete, and you will not have to complete it all at once. There is a short quiz at the end to test your new knowledge and an evaluation form to provide feedback. Once you have completed the Unit, you will be issued with a certificate of completion.
If you would like to enrol on Unit 1, please go to adaptcccu.moodle.school and create a new account. Please note, once you have registered and verified your email address, you will see a message saying that you are not able to enrol on the course. This is because the CCCU ADAPT team need to verify your details before you are granted access to the module. This will usually be done within a couple of hours, but please allow for up to two working days to receive an email confirming your access has been granted (please check your spam/junk folder).
