Celebrating 30 Years of Nursing at Christ Church

 

In 2019 we celebrated 30 years of nursing at Canterbury Christ Church University. Since 1989, we have trained thousands of nurses in the fields of adult, child and mental health nursing.

Our graduates have gone on to careers within the local health and social care workforce and further afield, both nationally and internationally, in a variety of roles and settings.

We are celebrating the achievements of our alumni, staff and current students, finding out what they love most about nursing and discovering where their careers as nurses have taken them.

Mary's Story
1989 - Present

Mary has been an Adult Nursing Lecturer at Christ Church since the very first cohort started in 1989. Here she talks about how the course has changed, and her vision for the future of nurse education.

1989 - 2018

Fiona McArthur-Rouse is former Head of the School of Nursing and alumna of Canterbury Christ Church University. Here she talks about her experience of teaching at Christ Church, how she helped to develop the curriculum and she shares her advice for nurses of the future.

Daniel's Story
1996 - 1999

Daniel was a Mental Health Nursing student on Project 2000, and then went on to study his postgraduate degree at Christ Church too. Learn more about how his career has lead him to many places around the world.
