Salomons Library is in Tunbridge Wells, about ten minutes’ walk from the train station. The library holds a specialist collection covering clinical psychology and mental health care. Library staff are on hand to help with information skills and literature searching.

Visitors, including external borrowers and members of the SCONUL Access Scheme, may use the library during staffed opening hours.

Library users at Salomons can also make the most of the library and learning resources at other campuses.

Salomons Library is on the third floor of Lucy Fildes House and is accessible by stairs or by lift. You’ll find staff support at the library point which is opposite the entrance to the library.

In the library are two Multi-Functional Devices (MFDs) for printing, photocopying and scanning. One is low level for wheelchair access.

All library stock is on open access shelving to the left of the entrance.

PCs: 21 PCs are available in the Library including one on a height adjustable desk. There are more PCs available on the ground floor.

i-Borrow: An i-Borrow cabinet with 10 i-Borrow laptops is available in the Library.

The Library is fully wi-fi enabled. Using the latest technology, it offers fast download and upload speeds.

Use LibrarySearch, or the designated LibraryCatalogue computer in the library, to see what resources we hold, including printed books, e-books, journal titles, theses and DVDs. You can filter your results by Library to list only Salomons stock.

Salomons Library houses a specialist collection of clinical psychology and mental health care items, as well as some in the fields of management, statistics and research methods. These items are shelved together at the beginning of the Library. Their classmarks always start with letters followed by a number and some further letters.

At the far end of the library, print copies of theses from the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme are shelved. These date from 1994 until 2010. Theses from 2011 onwards are available from Research Space.

Salomons takes a selection of journals in print, primarily in the mental health field. The most recent issue of each journal is held on the magazine stands just outside the Library. Past issues are shelved in alphabetical order of journal title within the Library. Details of all holdings can be found using LibrarySearch.
