We are looking for qualified level 2 (or equivalent) sport coaches who are willing to mentor one of our talented students over a 40 or 60 hour placement.

Our placements typically run between September-April each year, and we are completely flexible as to how you allocate the time in that period. We normally recommend 2 to 4 hours a week over 20 weeks.

Benefits

As a sport coach mentor you can:

  • Attend free sport coach mentor workshops.
  • Join a developing network of sport coach mentors in Kent.
  • Use your knowledge and experience to guide and develop student coaches, and develop the coaching workforce.
  • Gain access to our Sport Coaching Science experts.
  • Engage with our state-of-the-art sport science facilities through Sports Lab.

What our mentors say about our students

'Liam has shown a confident ability to express himself in the various Football sessions planned by both of us and has gained respect from myself and my ladies squad. Liam has been a pleasure to work alongside and will progress further in his chosen pathway in the future.'

'Martin was a fantastic student, and embraced the whole experience and probably well exceeded his 20 hours being always eager to come along. His contact with me as his coach mentor was first class. He designed and led a session which was a development of his actual remit, but he was keen to do it. He got on well with those he was coaching and got to learn their names really early on. In short he did very well.'
