Five Reasons to Study Psychology

Psychology is a diverse and fascinating subject that deals with how we perceive the everyday world. Here are five very good reasons to study Psychology at Canterbury Christ Church University.

Our BSc Psychology programme is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). So too are our combined programmes, as long as you choose to major in Psychology. This means that our BPS accredited courses can lead to postgraduate training towards becoming a Chartered Psychologist.

PsySoc offers members the opportunity to mix with students (and lecturers) with an interest in psychology in an informal setting. They host a variety of events, including: a film club, trips (e.g. to the Freud Museum), charity fundraising (e.g. Sport Relief) and PUB (Psychology Under the Bar).

We have designed our degree to enhance your employment prospects. With us, you can choose modules that support particular career pathways and you will have the opportunity to develop your academic, career and personal skills.

We focus on psychology in the real-world. Our programmes provide opportunities to learn about, and meet with, practitioners working in the field from early on in the programme.

We’ve designed it to provide a clear and coherent programme. Modules build upon and complement one another as part of an organised structure. We're committed to teaching excellence. We constantly revise the programme and look to improve it, together with the help of current and past students.
