Michael Burgess

Michael Burgess is Emeritus Professor of Federal Studies at the University of Kent in Canterbury, where he was also the Director of the Centre for Federal Studies until August 2014. He has published numerous books and articles on federal theory, Canadian federalism and federalism and the EU, including 'Federalism and European Union' (Routledge 2000) and 'In Search of the Federal Spirit' (Oxford University Press 2012). 

Soeren Keil

Soeren Keil

Soeren Keil is Senior Lecturer in International Relations at Canterbury Christ Church University in the UK. His main research interests include federalism as a tool of conflict resolution, the political systems of the Western Balkan states, and European integration. He is the author of 'Multinational Federalism in Bosnia and Herzegovina' (Ashgate 2013) and the Co-editor of 'The EU and Member State-Building – European Foreign Policy in the Western Balkans' (Routledge 2014).

Frederic Lepine is Deputy Director General of the Centre de Formation Européene in Nice, France. He has published widely on the topics of federal theory, multi-level governance, federalism in Belgium and federalism as an ideology. He is currently completing his PhD at the University of Kent in the UK. 

Sean Mueller

Sean Mueller

Sean Mueller is the Editorial Assistant of the Swiss Political Science Review and Lecturer at the Institute of Political Science of the University of Berne, Switzerland. He is also co-convenor of the standing group on 'Federalism & Territorial Politics' of the Swiss Political Science Association (since 2011) and in the editorial board of 'Fédéralisme-Régionalisme' (since 2013). He is the author of 'Why Centralisation? Concept, Theory and Comparative Evidence from Subnational Switzerland' (ECPR Press 2015) and the Co-editor of the forthcoming volume 'Understanding Federalism and Federation' (Ashgate 2015).
