I am currently a Client Project Manager, working for one of London's leading Housing Associations and largest Private Developer. I am responsible for ensuring that new homes meet the needs of customers both in terms of design and specification, and that new developments meet the needs of the local community in which they are situated. I graduated from Christ Church in 2012 with a combined honours degree in Sociology and Social Science with Criminology. During my time at university I developed an interest in social exclusion, and on the impact of the built environment on human behaviour. Having had the opportunity to volunteer at an immigration removal centre as part of the 'Citizenship and Community' module in Sociology, it was those prison-like conditions that brought me to the realisation that a stable well-designed home, consistent access to social services, and the opportunity to interact with and integrate into the community plays a vital role in social cohesion. It was for this reason that I sought employment in the housing sector. In my current job I work as a Property Management Officer, and I have achieved associate status with two internationally recognised professional bodies and attained qualifications in residential property management. I am forever grateful for the support and inspiration I received during my time at CCCU Sociology.
