Like all universities, we continuously review the courses we offer to ensure they remain up-to-date and of the highest quality. Starting in the 2025/2026 academic year, some courses will be updated, new ones will be introduced, and a small number may stop taking future applications.

What does this mean for you?

These changes will not affect the delivery of your current course, and our top priority is to ensure you can successfully complete your degree.

We have a range of support in place to help you succeed in assessments. In addition, we are updating our academic regulations to ensure that we continue to provide you with fair and transparent opportunities to progress during this time.

You may be impacted by the following situations, if you need to remain at a level of study, but your course at that level is no longer available.

  • You are subject to a suspension.

In these circumstances, we will endeavour to transfer you to the most relevant new course. The new courses will feature different modules and will be structured with 30 credits per module instead of the current 20 credits per module.

The majority of students will not be affected by these changes. However, if you are impacted, we will let you know (at the point of reassessment with attendance or interruption) and work closely with you to determine the best options to support your individual academic success.

If you have any queries about your assessments and progression, please check out the information on our student webpages.
