Movember – Let’s talk about men’s mental wellbeing
4 Nov 2024
Movember is all about making a difference in men’s mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. And we are encouraging all of us at CCCU to talk about men’s mental wellbeing as part of Movember.
We are encouraging everyone to check in with their mates, ask if they are OK, be there to listen and help them find support if they need it. If you think someone is struggling with their mental health don’t be afraid to ask them if there’s anything you can do to better support them.
Movember Conversations gives practical guidance on how to support men who might be struggling. Friends, family, teammates or housemates can all use this interactive tool to gain the skills and confidence to approach challenging conversations with the men in their lives. Learn more here.
To celebrate the men in our lives and to promote awareness around their health, Spectrum.Life have two special events taking place in their Wellbeing Studio:
Whether it is growing a moustache, moving for Movember or hosting a mo-ment event there are lots of ways to get involved and raise money for Movember.
Movember Varsity, 5 November, Mary Seacole SU Building
Join the Students’ Union for some friendly competition as Christ Church Lions and Team Kent battle it out to see who can cycle the most miles for men’s health! Cheer on your team, cycle for a cause, or simply join the fun. Every mile helps spread awareness for Movember.
Support the Christ Church Lions Moustache Challenge
Both the CCSU Men’s Football Team and Men’s Rugby are raising money for Movember by growing moustaches – check out their Instagram to track their progress!
