Publication of results

Assessment feedback is provided throughout the year in a number of forms and delivered in different ways. This helps you continuously develop your academic skills and subject understanding.

To understand how feedback can support your progress and success, check out:

At the end of a semester/trimester, you may be formally notified of the marking outcomes for the modules you’ve completed. The decision about your progression to the next level or your eligibility for your award is made at the end of each level of study.

You’ll receive a notification that your results are ready via your university email. You can then access them online in MyRecord (in the ‘My Studies’ tab, under ‘My Assessments’).

When you receive your results, this may include an outcome of ‘results pending’. This is where the Board of Examiners was unable to take a decision on one or more of your modules. The Board of Examiners will take a decision on these module(s) as soon as possible and your results will be updated. You will receive a new notification when this happens.

For students completing reassessments, reassessment with attendance, trail and progress or deferral placements your results will be under the year you originally studied the module. If, as part of your reassessment with attendance, you have studied an alternative module this will be under the year you studied that module.

Award documents

At the end of your studies if you have achieved a named award (e.g. a University Certificate, Certificate of Higher Education, Diploma of Higher Education, or a Bachelors or Masters or Doctorate degree), you will be issued with a certificate. This is official, formal confirmation that you have achieved a named award. It is a paper document which shows your full name, award title and classification (if applicable).

Your certificate is posted to your correspondence address, so please ensure you keep your contact details up-to-date in MyRecord even after you complete your studies. (If you have studied for a Canterbury Christ Church University award with a partner institution, your certificate may instead be sent to your place of study and then forwarded onto you. Your institution will tell you if this applies to you.)

Additionally, your academic transcript provides a full record of your university achievements, including academic results and some non-degree related. Since 2012, academic transcripts have mostly been issued in the format of a Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR). If you complete your studies after spring 2023, in most cases you will be able to access a digital copy of your HEAR.
