Project title

Marxism and Intersectionality

Supervisors: Professor David Bates, Dr Demtris Tillyris

Research Areas

  • Marxism
  • Feminism
  • Intersectionality

My research looks to explore whether or not it is possible to form a working and collaborative relationship between theories such as Marxism and intersectionality, in order to utilise classical political ideologies in a contemporary context. My thesis will also look to explore whether or not a theory such as intersectionality is capable itself of adequately dealing with issues pertaining to race, class and gender.

Biography

I completed my Masters with Distinction in Politics (Radical Political Thought) at Canterbury Christ Church University. My BA(hons) was in History and Politics, which I also completed at Canterbury Christ Church University.

I am currently working on a collaborative paper for the PSA conference with Professor David Bates on ‘Decentring Marxism: Marx, Class and Intersectionality’
