All courses undergoing periodic review require external scrutiny from an External Advisor to confirm that the course and learning outcomes continue to align with academic benchmarks and where necessary Professional Statutory Regulatory Body (PSRB) standards, and that the curriculum for each module is appropriate to the course and the award title.
It is permitted, but not required, that the External Examiner may be used for this role. A fee of £150 will be paid for this additional work. It is the responsibility of the course team to liaise with their external examiner / external advisor to ensure that the external scrutiny is carried out. The formal External Advisor report template is located in the document templates section of the Course Planning, Development and Approval page.
