A new video released today gives information and hope to young people experiencing psychosis.

Young people who hear voices or hold distressing beliefs (for example about people wanting to harm them) sometimes worry that they are developing a scary illness that will get worse over time.

Principal Lecturer Anne Cooke from the Salomons Institute for Applied Psychology has collaborated with the British Psychological Society, the charity Star Wards and filmmakers Mind Wick, to make a short video which explains why the picture is much more hopeful, outlines the issues clearly, and links to sources of help including a leaflet for young people and a longer e-book, ‘Understanding Psychosis’.

Anne said: "I hope this short video and leaflet will make a huge difference to many young people, including students."
