Canterbury Christ Church University has been awarded funding to become a Being Human Festival Hub in November 2023.

For the Festival the University will host a series of free public events exploring the theme of ‘Women Making Sense’. Inspired by the work of writers including Mary Shelley, Aphra Behn and Sophie Kirtley, the Hub programme will bring literature to life with all five senses, through walks and talks, graphic novel and poetry workshops, and even a cooking session!

Being Human is the UK's national festival of the humanities. Each November, the festival offers hundreds of free events across the UK to celebrate the ways in which humanities research inspires and enriches our everyday lives.

This year's Being Human Festival will take place 9-18 November, and the University will be hosting events in Canterbury, Margate, Ramsgate and New Romney.

Early programme highlights for Being Human 2023 can be found here. The Full programme details will be published in October.
