THRIVE: A Journey of Black Excellence 

In collaboration with CCCU’s Closing our Gap initiative and Elevated Minds, we've designed this programme for students in the Faculty of  Health, Medicine and Social Care to provide the space for Black and Black Mixed Heritage students to connect with peers, build community, enhance academic skills and reach your full potential.

What to expect:

Over the next five weeks, Canterbury Christ Church University and Elevated Minds will collaborate to present a series of transformative sessions to help you embrace your superpower:

  • Session 1: Black Joy (Unapologetically Black)  - 29 January
  • Session 2: A Mindset for Success - 6 February
  • Session 3: The Art of Leadership: A Catalyst for Growth  - 13 February
  • Session 4: Becoming, Being, and Belonging - 19 February
  • Session 5: Don’t just Climb the Ladder, Be the Ladder: Climbing the ladder without losing yourself plus celebration event  - 5 March

These engaging, interactive and experiential sessions are all about you, so get ready to learn about yourself in a deeper way so that you can stand in your power unapologetically.

A Community of Practice: Allyship, Compassion and Leadership

The Community of Practice: Allyship, Compassion and Leadership is a carefully crafted leadership programme draws on insights from the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s and Allied Health professional standards focusing on prioritising people and promoting professionalism and trust, whilst also exploring our collective responsibility to building compassion for ourselves and others.

The programme aims to equip you with the skills to co-construct collective leadership towards building belonging and inclusion within everyday life and professional practice that recognises and celebrates the beauty of our diversity.

  • Session 1 - Mindset for Success - 30 January
  • Session 2 - Facilitating Challenging and Courageous - 7 February
  • Session 3 - Good Ally: Shaping our Community of Practice - 3 March
