Profile Summary
I rejoined Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) in August 2006 as a learning technologist, and since August 2025, a learning designer. I have over 30 years’ experience working in higher education, and in that time, I have been actively involved in a range of local, national, international and award-winning projects relating to technology, learning spaces and education.
I have acted as a Community Teaching Assistant (CTA) for the University of Edinburgh on the “e-Learning and Digital Culture” Coursera MOOC. I hold a Doctorate in Education (EdD) and have published several book chapters on educational technology.
Research and Knowledge Exchange
My research interests include educational technology, digital education, e-portfolios, learning spaces, learning analytics, scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL), and professional learning. My EdD research concerned ‘The Professional Learning of Academics in Higher Education: A Sociomaterial Perspective’.
Teaching and Subject Expertise
I have taught on the University’s Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) course. I have organised and delivered on several academic professional development events and sessions on educational technology and digital learning. My teaching duties include seminar delivery, workshop facilitation, mentorship, peer observation and feedback.
External Activites
I am a Senior Fellow (SFHEA) with Advance HE (AHE), a Member (MBCS) and Chartered IT Professional (CITP) with the British Computer Society (BCS), and an Ordinary Member with the Association for Learning Technology (ALT).
