All courses and awards are governed by the University regulations and credit framework that are designed to ensure each course and award is structured, delivered and assessed fairly, consistently and transparently.
Current documentation versions and one previous are provided in relevant sections below. If you require earlier versions, please contact us.
The Academic Framework articulates the structures in place for the operation of University’s awards, and sets out the requirements and attributes for the design and delivery of awards with which all courses must comply. Alongside the Academic Framework, please refer to the Assessment Framework provided below.
The Assessment Framework sets out the principles that underpin the design and delivery of inclusive, authentic and effective assessments at Canterbury Christ Church University, in line with the Academic Framework and the University’s Learning, Teaching, and Assessment Strategy. To be viewed alongside the Academic Framework.
The Regulations for Taught Awards govern taught awards, including the arrangements for Boards of Examiners; External Examiners; pass, classification, progression and credit requirements (including compensation, trail and progress and reassessment with attendance); examinations and time constrained assessments; recognition of prior learning; assessment and reassessment.
The framework and regulations for reasearch awards govern the University’s research awards and the academic standards of these. They ensure equitable and fair treatment of students registered on University research courses.
The Assessment Procedures set out the University's procedures for the operation of assessment, examinations, Boards of Examiners and the External Examiner system.
Some courses and awards have approved Additional Course Regulations (formerly Special Regulations) that confer alternative regulations due to professional body and/or employer requirements.
Additional Course Regulations take precedence over the Taught Regulations. Where the Additional Course Regulations are silent however, the standard regulations for the relevant level of study will apply in full.
