Data Loss Prevention

Canterbury Christ Church University was pleased to welcome Mark Kendrew, Director of Apollo CIS, to deliver an Insider Threat Workshop on 28th February 2017, in support of our Data Loss Prevention week.

This innovative workshop introduced students who are studying Computer Security module to the different types of insider threat by asking them to act the part of an insider in one of a number of scenarios. Experiencing the motivations and feelings of different insiders is crucial for understanding these threats. The second half of the workshop used this knowledge and Mark Kendrew’s expertise to help students design controls to prevent, detect, respond to and recover from insider incidents.

Mr Reza Mousoli module leader for the Computer Security module said:

"As part of the national Data Loss Prevention week, we are pleased that Mark was able to transfer his immense experience and knowledge on the subject of insider attack to our students.I am delighted to announce that Mark Kendrew is a member of our Advisory Panel and his experience will be fully utilised for our programmes."
