Welcome to the Assessment Only Pathway which is a route to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for very experienced but unqualified teachers who do not require teacher training. We are looking forward to working with you and your employing school which has supported your application.

The Course Team

Welcome

Commencing this pathway with us is the beginning of a long-term relationship with all partners working together to transform the education and lives of children. We hope that once successful in your aim of achieving Qualified Teacher Status, you will want to think about deepening your understanding of your educational role by undertaking further qualifications with us.

You can find out more by visiting our web pages which introduce our Masters and Doctoral courses.

Getting started

After the initial visit meeting to set up your action plan, you will move forward with your individualised activities over the designated 12 week period. Be sure to plan time into your calendar in the coming weeks to record your evidence of progress and upload it to PebblePad, in preparation for the assessments.

Learn more about using PebblePad here: PebblePad - Canterbury Christ Church University

Registration

Once you have completed the application process you will receive further information from us regarding how to complete your registration and how to set up your computing account.

Registration generally opens several weeks before the course start date. You can only register once you have received an email titled: "Invitation to online registration". You will not be able to register earlier, so please check your emails regularly.

Please ensure that you action any emails as soon as you receive these - we recommend that you regularly check your junk folder as these emails may be directed there.

Pre-course reading

Prior to starting, you may wish to explore some texts relevant to your phase and discipline areas to support your development and reflections. Discuss this with your AO visiting tutor, and your school based colleagues.

It is useful to note that the University Bookshop offers 10% discount on most titles in print and have some price-beating book bundles. They also price match Amazon on core texts recommended in the module handbooks you will receive when you start in September.
