Our international students are supported by highly accomplished, nationally and internationally renowned teaching staff who have extensive experience in academic and professional practice, and in research.

This includes work-based learning which focuses on the needs of the workplace and the learner who is in work.

International students continue to be attracted to our work in public health and health studies, including health promotion. UK and international students find our full-time degree invaluable in developing their understanding of how social, environmental, psychological, global and lifestyle factors influence people’s health. Staff leading these subject areas have high level specialism and extensive experience in supporting students’ learning, working with Government and non-Government organisations and in research.

Our health-related work within the Faculty’s England Centre for Practice Development and Centre for Work-based Learning, together with the University’s Business School combine excellence in academic disciplines with considerable business experience and active research in both the public and private sectors. We provide an innovation-rich environment in which our students can learn to develop their service and enhance their practice, at a range of higher education levels.

At Canterbury Christ Church University the Institute of Medical Sciences provides expertise in postgraduate medical education and research. The Institute houses a fully equipped state of-the-art clinical simulation suite which enables unique, ground breaking and innovative programme development in collaboration with leading, internationally renowned consultant surgeons and clinicians. Canterbury Christ Church University runs an International Sponsorship Scheme for International Medical Graduates (IMGs). For those IMGs who meet the scheme’s criteria and those stated by the General Medical Council (GMC), there are a number of limited places where sponsorship for GMC registration may be awarded.

The Faculty of Health and Wellbeing engages with local, regional, national and international partners to lead on innovative research and knowledge exchange projects to advance scientific expertise and professional training. The Institute of Medical Sciences

The Institute provides expertise in postgraduate medical education and research. Our professors’ research work of international renown includes stem cell research in orthopaedics and medical app development.

Sidney De Haan Centre for Arts and Health

Committed to researching the potential value of music and other participative arts activities, this centre focusses on the promotion of wellbeing and health of individuals and communities. Research in the centre continues to build the case for singing on prescription.

Research Centre for Children, Families and Communities

This dynamic research centre is to undertake research that enhances the lives and life chances of children and young people while building strong families and communities.

The centre, which has close links to the Faculties of Education and Health and Wellbeing, draws together academics from a range of different disciplines in order to undertake research of national and international significance.
