We are delighted to introduce a new Futures scholarship for the September 2023 intake, for a student studying a full-time undergraduate degree in the Business School at Canterbury Christ Church University.
The Hawthorn Scholarship will be the largest award offered at Canterbury Christ Church and has been established thanks to the generosity of Iain Hawthorn, an alumnus of the Business School who saw his career transformed as a result of studying at Christ Church.
The Hawthorn Scholarship will offer £5,000 a year for three years, with the aim of supporting an undergraduate student into a future leadership role in Kent. Recipients will also have access to a dedicated mentor to support them throughout their studies and springboard them into a career in Kent.

Do you have an interest in contributing to wider university life or making a difference in the local community?
Applicants will need to demonstrate the impact this scholarship will make to them, as well as showing a flair for leadership or an interest in activities outside of education or within their local community.
They will also need to demonstrate a commitment to studying for the full three years of their course.
Students should apply by completing an application form, including a personal statement of no more than 500 words.

Late July - Shortlisted candidates notified and and invited to a meet the panel discussion.
Early August - Successful applicant will be notified. The Scholarship may be subject to achieving BBB at A Level or equivalent, depending on whether the student is waiting for their Level 3 results.
September 2023 - Scholarship awarded.
