"The combination of different innovative topics complimented each other and presented exciting learning opportunities. The course gave me the confidence and skill set to push myself to become self-employed and run my own events management human resources company. I am forever grateful for the support of my lecturers both during and after my studies. "

Getting started

In your first week we will take you on a few local field trips and visit a food festival so please make sure you have looked online at different examples of Food Festivals.

Your year at Christ Church Business School is divided into three Trimesters. You will study 120 credits overall, plus a 60-credit dissertation. You will choose these modules when you arrive.

The structure aims to be both simple and comprehensive. You will follow four core modules, which will provide an overall foundation for management in the relevant industries, clearly introducing basic concepts, working approaches and methodologies.

The content of the programme has been designed in such a way that it underpins:

  • The interdisciplinary of our approach to the study of international hospitality management
  • A research-informed, up-to-date curriculum, embedded in the real world of international hospitality.

The core modules have been carefully written to prepare you for employment or study whilst being employed, and then fully prepare you for the dissertation that completes the totality of the programme.

You will also select one optional module which offers you the chance to study two bespoke areas of management, to prepare you for employment and/or career enhancement. Employability skills and attributes are embedded into each module.

Our International Hospitality Management students are of all ages, from all backgrounds and from many places around the world. This makes us a rich, diverse, inclusive, tolerant and lively community.

Our campus is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and we look after it with care. It has wonderfully maintained open spaces and gardens to stroll in and meet with friends. It is situated in the heart of the city and everything you need for a convenient student life is within close walking distance.

On the International Hospitality Management MSc you will have the opportunity to study and work directly with members of the Kent community and contribute to the development of this dynamic and enterprising region, for example by visiting the Canterbury Food Festival and listening to guest speakers from high-quality local restaurants and organisations such as the local Destination Management company, Visit Kent.
