The course is interdisciplinary and unique. It offers you the opportunity to combine discipline-specific knowledge and skills in accounting, finance, and business management to make holistic business decisions in addressing modern society issues. This course equips and prepares you for a career in accounting, finance, and business management to fulfill your professional and life potentials. You will have the opportunity to undertake a Professional Placement as an optional part of your degree. You will spend the third year of a four-year degree in a full-time, paid work placement with an employer. Or, you may be eligible to apply to study for a Year Abroad after the successful completion of your second year.

Your Welcome Week is an essential introduction to your course and the wider University, helping you to feel confident and prepared for your studies right from the very start.
It is important to check your Course Welcome Week for all the activities you are required to attend as part of your course induction. If any of your welcome activities are in groups, your course team will contact you before you arrive to let you know which group you will be in.
In addition, check the Student Events Hub for a range of fun activities. including the Students’ Union Welcome Fair, to help you make friends and live your best CCCU student life.

UniTimetables provides an overview of all teaching activities for a course. If your course is taught in groups, it will display information for all groups, not just the group you will be assigned to.
Your individual student timetable will show you what modules and groups you are expected to attend via MyTimetable. This will be available for when your teaching starts.

Welcome to the Accounting, Finance & Business Management course. We have no doubt that you have made the right choice, and we will be with you every step of the way during the next three or four years of your study. As Accounting, Finance & Business Management students, you will engage in interdisciplinary and unique course, which equips you with specific knowledge and skills in accounting, finance, and business professions. The course gives you a broad understanding of all aspects of business and the role accounting and finance play in it. You will understand the technical languages and applications such as budgeting, analysis, and interpretation of financial statements for business management and financial decisions.
The course has talented academics, researchers, and knowledge exchange links, which give you the opportunity to be involved in live projects and research areas of your interest. Academics, experts, and experienced professionals who teach the course value and develop your transferable skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, self-awareness, leadership, analysis, and teamwork, and build your confidence in interpersonal skills and communicating your discipline knowledge using multiple mediums, including information technology.
Employers value graduates with interdisciplinary knowledge and skills. Accounting, Finance & Business Management course provides you with multiple career opportunities and potentials in accountancy, investment, banking, personal and corporate finance, business leadership and management, entrepreneurial, consulting, IT, and research roles.
You will be equipped to make ethical strategic and operational decisions for small, medium-sized, and large businesses, applying their accounting and finance knowledge and skills.
In each year of your course, you will develop your employability skills, some of which you can showcase on your CV and via social platforms such as LinkedIn.
You will have the opportunity to gain work experience on a year-long placement with an external organisation or apply to study for a year in one of our partner institutions in North America as part of your degree if you meet the criteria.
We care about you as a person, your wellbeing, and your success. You will be assigned a personal academic tutor (PAT) from your first day at the university. We provide useful resources to support you with your finances, your mental health and your study skills. We will be with you every step of the way!
We understand that you have made a big step to gain this admission to achieving your future goals. This will involve investing time, money, and energy. We are here to support you all the way. So, do not fret!
Your first year is divided into two semesters and you will study three modules in each one.

We care about you being at ease and confident about your studies and not worried. So, we have put in place a welcome week starting in the week of 15th September 2025 with lots of activities for you to familiarise yourselves with the way we teach and the way we will mark your work. Be rest assured that you will get all the help and support you need. It is also an opportunity to start to make friends.
On the social side, the Student Union (CCSU) has a huge range of clubs and societies – all of which have unique social calendars of their own and offer endless opportunities to make lifelong friends and discover new hobbies. And you can always create your own society and cultivate your own community!
CCSU will be hosting their Welcome Fayre on Wednesday 17th September 2025. Make sure you keep checking the CCSU website for further details and how to get involved.

Given that you have worked very hard to get into university, we recommend that you use the summer to prepare yourself for your transition to higher education and take some time to relax and rejuvenate.
