Can you believe it’s nearly Easter? We are so ready for the warmer spring weather, lighter evenings, and chocolate eggs (obviously).

Now that you’ve applied to uni (but don’t worry if you haven’t yet – keep reading), you’re hopefully enjoying some rest before your exams and getting things in order to make your September start a little smoother.

If you’re still thinking about what you need to do whilst you’re waiting for your offers, check out this blog on what you can do before starting uni.

As always, at the end of each month, we answer your most asked questions. And as we have another Offer Holder Answers session this afternoon, what better time than to answer your most popular questions today.

So, here are the answers to your top five most asked questions for March. Here we go….

1. When does Student Finance open? How do I apply?

You can apply right now! It’s best to apply as soon as you can so you can be sure that you’ll receive the money for when you start university. You can apply up to nine months after your course starts, so don’t worry about missing the deadline just yet. But we recommend that you apply as soon as possible to avoid any delays.

All you have to do is apply via the government website. Simply set up a student finance account and fill out the application form.

Don’t forget, your parents/guardians will have to support your application. Find out more information about this on the government website.

If you want to find out more information about fees, funding, and student finance, then head over to the CCCU website.

2. When is the next on campus event?

Our next Answers Days are:

  • 9 June 2024 – Canterbury Campus
  • 22 June 2024 – Medway Campus.

There are also subject-specific and topical sessions that are being held throughout the academic year. These events are both online and/or in-person and cover:

  • Live Q&As for international students
  • Health Simulation Suite Open Event
  • Online UniBuddy events.

Follow the link and book onto one of our events today!

3. Can I apply for accommodation?

Yes, accommodation applications for the 24/25 intake are open right now. Simply go onto our website, click ‘Apply for Accommodation’, and this will take you to our accommodation portal.

For more specific information on how to apply, visit our ‘how to apply for accommodation’ page.

Remember, we have an accommodation guarantee for all our first year students, including international students. So, unlike other universities, you'll definitely have somewhere to live for when you start CCCU.

4. The January deadline has passed. Can I still apply?

Even though the January deadline has passed, you can still apply. However, we can’t guarantee anything, particularly for our courses that fill up very fast.

Don’t forget, Clearing start on 5 July, so this is another opportunity to get your applications in. If you’re not familiar with Clearing, then it’s a time for applicants to re-apply for a different course or university, or apply for the first time.

Read why Clearing could be for you, and keep an eye on our website for when it starts.

5. Being prepared, are there are reading lists?

Yes, once you’ve accepted your offer from us, you’ll receive everything you need in the summer before your course begins. This will include a suggested reading list if you’re keen to get ahead before September.

However, we do want to make sure that you’re refreshed and ready for when your course begins, so whilst a bit of reading is a sensible move, be sure to enjoy your summer holidays as well!
