We know how important it is for you to know where you'll live while at university. That's why we're offering an accommodation guarantee to students who gain a place through Clearing. That's one less thing to worry about and one more reason to join us!

Accommodation guarantee for Clearing applicants

If you apply for a course through Clearing at our Canterbury Campus, and are made an offer or accept an interview (from Monday 2 September to Friday 6 September), you will be guaranteed a study bedroom in university-approved accommodation, providing:

  • you submit your online accommodation application by Friday 6 September or four days after your interview. You will be able to apply within 24 hours of your UCAS status changing to UF (Unconditional Firm).

If you're applying for a course at Medway, please also apply online and we will contact the private provider to see what rooms they have available, or assist you in finding a room in the private sector.

Reasons to choose University managed accommodation

  1. You'll feel secure - Our security team is available 24/7 either on-site or a short call away.
  2. Make friends for life - Our accommodation is specifically for Canterbury Christ Church students.
  3. You pay for the academic year - Your contract is 39 weeks as standard, which means you don’t have to pay for living here if you return home or travel during the summer period. If you do want to remain in accommodation, extensions are available if you have kept all licence conditions and are still a full-time registered CCCU student.
  4. Student wellbeing support is on-hand - On-site teams have access to our student support services and can assist in referring you if you need them.
  5. All bills are included in the price - You won’t receive any unexpected hidden charges during your stay. Plus, we do not ask for a deposit - you pre-pay £115 which goes towards your first accommodation instalment.
  6. Receive a £250 bonus - Get this in three instalments on your smart card/unipay app that can be used at university catering outlets (if you pay your fees up-front).

We'll allocate your room as quickly as possible, and you will receive your accommodation offer by email shortly afterwards.

How to accept your offer

To accept your accommodation offer, you will need to:

  • Accept your offer and agree to the accommodation licence (contract) using the accommodation portal before your deadline date.

and

  • Pay the £115 pre-payment fee online during the acceptance process and set up a payment plan for 3 instalments to be paid in September, January and April - giving email contact details of a guarantor for your booking.

or

  • Pay all accommodation fees in full* before the start of the first term.

After you have done this, you'll receive an online induction and your check-in details.

*If you pay your full accommodation fees for the whole year before the start of the first term in September, or within 14 days of arrival, we will give you a £250 bonus for Catering and Food Court Services, which will be added to your student card and split into 3 instalments across the year.

Visit our accommodation pages to view the accommodation available. Most of our webpages will have 360° films for you to view.

There will be options to select both en-suite bedrooms and bedrooms where you share a bathroom with other students in your application.

En-suite rooms are likely to be limited in number and can’t be guaranteed. If we offer you a room with a shared bathroom, we advise that you accept the offer.

If you apply to the University and submit your accommodation application after the guarantee period, don't worry because we’ll still help you find accommodation in Canterbury.

Last year we offered all applicants, even those who applied throughout late September and October, either a university room, or we helped them find a room in Canterbury.
