May is upon us and it’s getting closer and closer to results day. We’re guessing that you’re taking this time to revise for your exams and get prepared for when uni starts in September. Or you’re taking this time to relax before the exam period begins.

Whatever you’re doing, you’re still sending in your questions to our lovely Course Enquiry Team.

And it’s getting busy. So, this month, we have more questions to answer. Let’s go…

1. Can I still apply?

Even though the January deadline has passed, you can still apply. However, we can’t guarantee anything, particularly for our courses that fill up very fast.

Don’t forget, Clearing start on 5 July, so this is another opportunity to get your applications in. If you’re not familiar with Clearing, then it’s a time for applicants to re-apply for a different course or university, or apply for the first time.

Read why Clearing could be for you, and keep an eye on our website for when it starts.

2. When can I visit as I can't make the offer holder days?

The best thing to do to really get a feel of a place is to go and explore. You don’t really know what a university is going to be like until you’ve visited and chatted to the students and staff.

Our next Answers Days (these are like Open Days) are:

If you can’t make it to these dates, then you can always book a campus tour or, failing that, take a virtual tour. There’s also the option of taking a self-guided tour around our Canterbury Campus.

There are topic-specific events that you can attend online that cover topics like finance, advice for international students, and finding part-time work during your studies.

All this information is on our Visit Us page on the website. So, come to visit and chat to us!

3. Is there an international intake for June?

This depends on what you’d like to study. Here’s what’s available for a summer start:

  • MBA International starts in June.
  • Postgraduate courses with Extended Master’s options start in July.

Find out which Extended Master’s courses are available on our website.

4. Is accommodation open?

Yes, accommodation applications for the 24/25 intake are still open. Simply go onto our website, click ‘Apply for Accommodation’ at the top of the page, and this will take you to our accommodation portal.

For more specific information on how to apply, visit our ‘how to apply for accommodation’ page.

Remember, we have an accommodation guarantee for all our first year students, including international students, offering peace of mind for your living situation during the first year at uni.

5. How do I change from insurance choice to firm choice?

Within the first 14 days of your application, you’re able to swap your firm and insurance choices. But if it’s after this time, and depending on where you are in the application cycle, the best thing to do is to contact UCAS.

Remember that changing your choices will mean that you may also have to update your student finance and accommodation applications.

Once you’ve received your results, then you won’t be able to swap your choices. If you still want to go to your insurance choice after receiving your results, then you’ll be able to do so through Clearing.

6. How do I transfer from my current university to CCCU?

If you’d like to transfer to another university, you’ll have to apply through UCAS again.

It’ll be the same process as when you applied previously – you’ll still have to write a personal statement and have references etc. You’ll need to change the Point of Entry to year 2.

Ok, here’s some maths…

In order to be considered for transfer, you’ll need to have completed each full academic year with 120 credits. This means that:

  • To transfer into year 2, you’ll need 120 credits from year 1
  • To transfer into your 3, you’ll need 120 credits from year 1 and 120 credits from year 2, equalling to 240 credits.

If you don’t manage to get the full 120 credits for one year, then you’ll have to repeat that year with CCCU before progressing onto the next academic year.
