We are proud to sponsor this year’s Pride Canterbury and delighted to celebrate this joyful event once again with our Canterbury community.

Pride Canterbury is planned to take place on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 June 2023, with a parade through Canterbury High Street as well as stalls and live entertainment in the Dane John Gardens.

Pride is a celebration of LGBTQIA+ identity, which brings the whole community together to celebrate equality and diversity, progress and respect, and also marks Pride Month.

A pageant parade will open the day of festivities, with Canterbury Parade proceeding through Canterbury city centre on Saturday 10 June at 11am, followed by a star-studded lineup of artists celebrating in the Dane John Gardens, including performances from Liberty X, Twist and Pulse, Season 4 winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Danny Beard, Caity Baser, Baga Chipz and many more.

Over the years the University has become a key partner of Pride Canterbury and has supported the event in many ways. We have a thriving LGBT+ staff network and LGBT+ student society at Canterbury Christ Church, and this sponsorship is part of the dynamic range of activities and support we offer to our LGBT+ community and allies.

Canterbury Christ Church will be hosting a stall in the Dane John Gardens showcasing a flower wall, and encouraging people to grow rainbow wildflower seeds, freebies and more.

Students and staff can also join the parade and places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis with 100 available.
