Join us at Pride Canterbury 2025
21 May 2025
Canterbury Christ Church University is proud to sponsor Pride Canterbury on Saturday 7 June, celebrating LGBTQIA+ pride with the University and Canterbury community.
Over the years, the University has become a key partner of Pride Canterbury and has supported the event in many ways. The University has a thriving LGBTQIA+ staff network and LGBTQIA+ student society, and the sponsorship of Pride is part of the dynamic range of activities and support the University offers to the LGBTQIA+ community and allies.
This year, the event will be centred around Westgate Gardens, where the day will begin with a parade starting and ending at Westgate Towers, through Canterbury High Street, leading into an afternoon of LGBTQ+ visibility, community stalls, food vendors, and celebration in one of Canterbury’s most historic areas.
To join the CCCU group in the Parade, request your wristbands now by using this form. We will release more details to those who complete the form as they become available.
Wristbands can be collected from the CCCbeU Conference Registration desk in Augustine House on Wednesday 28 May (email us if you can’t make it). If you haven’t already registered for CCCbeU, you can follow this link to register.
Through the form, you’ll also be able to tell us if you can volunteer to help the Equity and Inclusion team run the CCCU stall on the day. We will be very grateful for any offer of help, even for as little as an hour.
All are also welcome to join the free Pride Festival in Westgate Gardens and enjoy the 70 plus marketplace stalls, food and drink vendors, family area and more!
We look forward to seeing many of you there!
As part of Pride, we want to take the opportunity to encourage students and staff to take our Expect Respect pledge. Canterbury Christ Church University and the Students’ Union believe all students, staff and visitors have the right to live, study and work in a safe and supportive environment, free from discrimination, bullying or harassment of any form.
We believe that we all have a part to play in creating inclusive and welcoming campuses, free from harassment. We can take positive action in a number of ways to educate ourselves, reflect on our own behaviour and challenge behaviour in others.
We actively encourage staff and students to report any harassment or sexual misconduct they experience through our Report and Support platform. If you have witnessed, been impacted by or experienced harassment, we are here to support you.
