We are looking forward to welcoming you to the University Certificate in Intelligence and Decision Making.
Your course welcome and induction will take place during the first taught session on Friday 29 May 2026.
The time and location of this session, and the timetable for the module, can be viewed here.
During your first session you will be welcomed and given a brief orientation, as well as the academic skills that you’ll need to support your understanding of course material, embark on early learning content, and of course, meet your peers.
Once you have completed the application process you will receive further information from us regarding how to complete your registration and how to set up your computing account.
Registration generally opens several weeks before the course start date. You can only register once you have received an email titled: "Invitation to online registration". You will not be able to register earlier, so please check your emails regularly.
If you are a non-UK national you will be invited, by e-mail, to complete an online right to study check with our compliance team as part of the registration process.
Please ensure that you action any emails as soon as you receive these - we recommend that you regularly check your junk folder as these emails may be directed there.
Without completing your registration and creating your computing account you will not be able to access our Virtual Learning Environment, Blackboard, which is essential to your participation in the course.
You will be eligible to receive your Student ID card once you have completed your online registration.
In preparation for the course, we encourage you to visit the Learning Skills Hub where you can brush up on the skills you’ll need to succeed on the course – skill modules on referencing, research, time management, and academic integrity are especially encouraged.
You may also want to familiarise yourself with our Library, including how to search the Library online.
