Profile summary

My PhD project studies the impact of suicidal behaviours on the life of autistic adults of working age. Previous quantitative studies have shown that autistic adults are more likely to exhibit suicidal thoughts. My research will aim to make recommendations for a new way of caring for autistic adults who are exhibiting suicidal behaviours. Using the transformative paradigm it gathers data through a questionnaire and interviews.

As an undergraduate I studied geography and geology, later studying for an MEd in Special Needs and Inclusive Education.  I was a teacher and leader in secondary education for 25 years.
