Carers Create

Evaluating the benefit of engagement in creative activities on care-giver health and wellbeing, over a two year period.

The aim of this project was to assess the effect on health and wellbeing of a two-year, weekly programme of various creative activities on four peer groups of family carers for people with dementia.

Standardised questionnaires used in health and wellbeing assessment and prepared as creative ipad applications and assessment of participant’s visual art works representing their perceived QOL are being used to measure changes over time.

The interim report of base-point data is due January 2016, and the study will initially feed into the work of Arts4Dementia and then more widely.
