Students will build their oracy skills and confidence through a one-hour ethical debate, dynamic dialogue, or Change Maker oracy session.

In this interactive workshop, students will first work with the SCE team and student ambassadors to build their oracy skills and confidence through a one-hour ethical debate, dynamic dialogue, or Change Maker oracy session. They will then take part in a two-hour session with an academic and/or Postgraduate ambassadors where, learning lessons from business, students will develop their understanding of what distinguishes a successful leader from a successful manager. Looking at contemporary and historic examples in context students will develop their critical thinking through examining a range of perspectives on people management, as well as the impact the external environment has on management and leadership. This workshop will build students’ confidence and empower individual students and teams (e.g., prefects/ student voice) to understand the range of skills and abilities that may be embodied in a successful leader.
