Dr Laurent Dessberg

Based in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Education

Laurent Dessberg is a philosopher. He earned his PhD from the University of Provence, France, followed by postdoctoral training at the CNRS-IREDU, Institute for Research on Economics and Sociology in Education-France. He was Publisher in philosophy of education, Fabert-France, and held Lectureships at the University Paris Descartes, Sorbonne V, and at the University of Burgundy, Dijon-France. In addition to Philosophy of Education and Political Philosophy, his current research and writing focuses on the use of the method of revision in Pragmatism. This pertains to the development of cognitive sets and capabilities for reconstructing beliefs and preferences within democratic societies.
