Getting started

To complete the course, you need to accumulate 120 level 6 credits by studying selected modules. There are three core modules:

  • Transforming Health & Care Quality (Introductory module - You would normally be expected to start with this module)
  • Challenges of Leadership (designed to follow the introductory module)
  • Transforming Healthcare Provision (40-credit completion module)

For the remaining two modules you can choose from a range of clinical and professional practice modules or opt for the Negotiated Learning module which enables you to tailor your learning to your own specific needs and professional development.

In preparation for the Transforming Health & Care Quality module, spend some time considering what quality in healthcare means to you and what it means within your area of professional practice.

Fees and Sponsorship

If you intend to self-fund your studies, you will need to consider how completing a degree might be accommodated with your professional and other life commitments - make sure you have professional and personal support to help you through your study.

If you wish to be supported through your studies by your employer or another sponsor you will need to discuss your plans with them in advance. Students with sponsors will be asked to provide evidence and specific details via the university's registration portal 'MyRecord'. If you require support with this please contact health.business-operations@canterbury.ac.uk.

Pre-course reading

We would encourage you to review the course structure and module options via your course page before you arrive.

You might find these useful reading prior to starting your studies. I would also recommend familiarising yourself with the quality monitoring procedures in your practice area.
