Your Welcome Week is an essential introduction to your course and the wider university, helping you to feel confident and prepared for your studies right from the very start.
It is important to check your Course Welcome Week for all the activities you are required to attend as part of your course induction. If any of your welcome activities are in groups, your course team will contact you before you arrive to let you know which group you will be in.
In addition, check the Student Events Hub for a range of fun activities. including the Students’ Union Welcome Fair, to help you make friends and live your best CCCU student life.

Welcome to Architectural Engineering at Canterbury Christ Church University! We are excited to help you develop the engineering skills essential for designing, analysing, and managing the systems and structures within buildings. Throughout your degree, we will prepare you for successful careers in the architectural, engineering, and construction industry or for further academic study.
Our goal is to equip you to apply your knowledge effectively in this dynamic field, integrating engineering principles with architectural concepts to shape the built environment. Please be assured that you will be fully supported as you begin your studies at CCCU.
We aim to make your transition into higher education as smooth as possible. You will find our engineering staff, with their expertise in various aspects of building design and technology, friendly and readily available to support you throughout your academic journey.
At the beginning of the academic year, you will participate in induction activities designed to help you get organised, settle in, meet your fellow Architectural Engineering students, and familiarise yourself with the department and university resources. Support activities continue throughout the year to ensure you feel confident and engaged in your studies.
The academic year at Canterbury Christ Church University is split into two semesters – one running from September to January and a second one from late January to May.
Each Semester you will study different modules covering different areas of Architectural Engineering.

On the social side, the Student Union (CCSU) has a huge range of clubs and societies – all of which have unique social calendars of their own and offer endless opportunities to make lifelong friends and discover new hobbies. CCSU will be hosting their Welcome Fayre on Wednesday 17th September 2025. Make sure you keep checking the CCSU website for further details and how to get involved.
