CCCU introduces Schwartz Rounds for healthcare students.
We are delighted to confirm that Health Education England (HEE) has awarded funding to the School of Allied and Public Health Professions to establish Schwartz Rounds for students.

Alan Mount, Professional lead for Operating Department Practice (ODP) in the School of Allied and Public Health Professions has recently been appointed as Chair of the Education and Standards Committee for the College of Operating Department Practitioners.
Alan’s appointment builds on a sustained impact in the development of the status of the Operating Department Practice profession. In 2004 he was appointed by the Privy Council firstly, as the Alternate Council Member, then as a Full Council Member at the Health and Care Professions Council. During his time in post, he played a key role in the development of the first set of Standards of Proficiency for the profession and Standards of Continuous Professional Development.
He was also awarded the Fellowship of the College in May 2004 for services to the Operating Department Practice profession.
Professor Christopher Burton, Head of the School of Allied and Public Health Professions said: “Alan’s appointment as Chair of this important committee reflects his high standing within the profession. I’m delighted that his expertise continues to shape the development of the Operating Department Practice profession not only at Canterbury Christ Church University, but across the United Kingdom. He’s a fantastic role model for our students, who we hope will continue in his path to lead the development of the profession”.
