This lecture considers how the history of the Normans has developed in our current century taking into account recent anniversaries and events such as the 950th anniversary in 2016 of the Battle of Hastings, the recent large-scale exhibition on the Normans in Mannheim featuring migration, conquest and innovation and the forthcoming European Year of the Normans in 2027.
This event was originally advertised to take place in the Michael Berry lecture theatre (Old Sessions House). It is now taking place in the Michael Wright lecture theatre, VH.0.04, Verena Holmes building.
Refreshments will be served from 5.15pm outside the Michael Wright lecture theatre. The lecture will then start at 6pm.
Please note that this lecture will also be live-streamed via Microsoft Teams town hall. The joining link will be provided on your e-ticket.
