Join us for an Earth Charter Campaign guest lecture by Emma Slade, the only Western woman fully ordained in Bhutan. Teacher, coach and charity founder Emma is delivering a lecture titled 'What shapes the Buddhist attitude to our world?'

Emma’s life has illustrated a great thirst for knowledge, a capacity to overcome great trauma and a wish to dedicate her life to advancing the chance for females to advance in their spiritual practice and inspire others.

Emma will clarify how it is to live with a Buddhist framework and how it informs her daily life. Buddhism emphasises the core principle of non-harming; how might this inform our understanding of how to live together with others and as part of a huge interdependent ecosystem? Emma will speak and also enjoy taking questions from all who attend.

This guest lecture is organised by Project 93 - an initiative which aims to enrich the academic experience, enhance critical engagement, encourage social activism, and incite solidarity and hope amongst our staff and students.
