Once a vacancy has closed, all applications will be considered for the role with respect to the essential and desirable criteria outlined in the person specification. Information provided by applicants will form the basis of shortlisting criteria used by the University. Therefore, you should consider the person specification carefully to ensure you meet the relevant criteria for the position you are applying for.
The University ensures that you receive notification of the outcome of your application, irrespective of whether or not you have been selected to attend an interview.
The University will endeavour to give you reasonable notice of an interview. All our interviews are conducted by a panel made up of relevant members of the departmental staff, customers or external stakeholders. Canterbury Christ Church University staff receive in-depth training in the University’s Recruitment and Selection procedures before sitting on interview panels.
Depending on the type of position you are applying for, candidates may be asked to give a presentation or undertake a work related test or other selection exercise so that we can get an understanding of your relevant skills and experience.
An email will be sent out by the Human Resources and Organisational Development department with information about the interview, if applicable we will also provide details about presentations and tests. Under the Immigration, Asylum & Nationality Act 2006 we are required to obtain proof of right to work documentation prior to the employee
If you have given us permission to do so, we will request references once candidates have confirmed their attendance to interview.
Please note that the University does not pay interview expenses to candidates.
Once interviews have been held the successful candidate will be contacted by the panel chair or department lead who will make a conditional offer.
All unsuccessful candidates will be contacted after the interview and notified of the outcome. Feedback will be made available and should you wish to receive feedback on your application and interview please contact the recruitment team.
You’ve got the job
The Department will inform HR&OD once a verbal offer has been made and accepted, HR&OD will then send all relevant new starter information to you.
