Once the site of a swimming pool and skittles alley, this listed building provides a vibrant entertainment and social space.

Drill Hall Library 

The Drill Hall Library is situated in a grade 2 listed building that was part of the historic Chatham dockyards.  

The building, at 184 metres long, is thought to be the longest library in Europe and contains 2.7 miles of shelving, an extensive collection of around 130,000 books and journals, 400 computers and 100 netbooks/laptops, training rooms, and discussion spaces. 

Support available at the Drill Hall Library includes IT training on the Microsoft Office package, help with referencing, poster printing up to A0 size and support from subject librarians who can assist with accessing relevant information for your studies.

Sports 

If you’re keen on sport and keeping fit you’ll enjoy the sports hall, gym and outdoor sports facilities.  

These include: 

• Small but fully equipped gym with a selection of cardio and resistance equipment and free weights
• Large, five court sports hall, suitable for basketball, five-a-side football, Futsal, volleyball and badminton
• Two outdoor tennis courts for tennis and Pickleball.
